Tram travel will be complicated this weekend as maintenance work will take place in key sections of track in the city center and in the Vinohrady and Žižkov districts.

The most significant and longest interruption is in the Malá Strana district. Trams won’t run between the Újezd and Malostranská stops for 8 pm on Friday, Feb. 11, to 11:59 pm on Sunday, Feb. 13. The affected lines are 12, 15, 20, and 22 plus the night tram 97. Tram lines will take detours and alternative transport will be introduced.

Tram lines number 12, 15, and 20 between the Anděl and Malostranská stops will take a detour through the Zborovská to Jiráskovo náměstí stops and from there go past the Národní divadlo stop to Staroměstská, and then get back to the regular routes. Line number 22 and night tram 97 will also run between Národní divadlo and Malostranská via the Staroměstská stop. The route of bus number 194 will be shortened to end at the Malostranská stop.

As a substitute, the Prague Public Transit Company will introduce temporary bus X22. It will run between Malostranské náměstí, Malostranská, and Valdštejnské náměstí. There will be no substitute service between Malostranské náměstí and Újezd.

There will also be interruptions on tram service between Hlavní nádraží and Nákladové nádraží Žižkov as well as between Olšanské náměstí and Flora. These closures will be broken up into two sessions: Feb. 12 from 7:30 am to 6 pm and on Feb. 13 from 7:30 am to 1 pm. The affected lines are 5, 9, 13, 15, and 26.

These lines will also take detours or have shortened routes. The temporary Dlážděná stop on Dlážděná Street near the intersection with Senovážné náměstí is being set up in both directions for use by tram number 9.

Line number 5 will be diverted in the section between Jiráskovo náměstí and Nákladové nádraží Žižkov via the stops Národní divadlo, Národní třída, Karlovo náměstí, IP Pavlova, Náměstí Míru, Orionka, Flora, and Želivského. It will be extended from Vozovna Žižkov to Spojovací.

Tram number 9 will operate in two variants. Part of the traffic will be diverted from the Jindřišská stop via the Masarykovo nádraží to Bílá labuť. Another part of the traffic will go from the Jindřišská to the temporary Dlážděná stop and be relabeled as tram route 15. It will then continue through the Masarykovo nádraží stop in the direction of Kotlářka.

Tram number 13 in will be extended from the Olšanské hřbitovy stop via Želivského and Nákladové nádraží Žižkov to Vozovna Žižkov.

Tram number 15 in the direction from Čechova náměstí will be shortened to end at the Masarykovo nádraží stop. It will change to tram number 9 and continue from Dlážděná through the Jindřišská stop in the direction of Sídliště Řepy.

Tram number 26 will be diverted in the section from Masarykovo nádraží to Želivského via the stops Václavské náměstí, Karlovo náměstí, IP Pavlova, Náměstí Míru, Orionka, and Flora.

Two alternate buses will be introduced. X9 will follow the route Žižkov – Olšanská – Hlavní nádraží – Dlážděná. X15 will cover Olšanské hřbitovy – Flora – Olšanské náměstí – Hlavní nádraží – Dlážděná.

A longer term interruption of service will start Feb. 15 and last until April 1 on the section between Palackého náměstí and Výtoň, affecting trams 2, 3, 4, 7, 17, 21, 24, and 92. These lines will take detours and no substitute buses will be available.
