20 Photos that Prove Czech Forests Are Paradise for Mushroom Hunters

Mushroom season is in full swing and according to experts from the Czech Mycological Society conditions are just right this year for a bumper crop.

There’s no better proof of this than the flood of photos on social media depicting proud pickers with their overflowing baskets.

Here in Prague local mushroom enthusiasts head to the wooded areas surrounding the Czech capital, collecting houby in Kunratice, Stromovka, Klánovický, Hvězda, or Divoká Šárka to dry, fry, or add to an omelet or creamy sauce.

Thanks to the warm, damp weather of the Indian Summer you don’t have to go very far to harvest plentiful fungi rapidly multiplying in villages and along country roads.
