You walk past them on your way to work and sometimes stop to admire some details of their façades on aimless walks.
Some buildings in Prague, like the new building of the National Theater, or the branch of Komerční banka in Smíchov, make you wonder what the architect had in mind. Others, like the Gröbe Villa in Havlíček Park, Villa Lanna in Bubeneč make you fall in love, at first sight, thanks to their intricate yet classic beauty.

How about learning more about their history, and admiring their interiors too? Between May 15 and 21, the ninth edition of the Open House Prague Festival opens its doors to more than 100 buildings to visitors, with an accompanying program that includes walking tours, lectures, and discussions (most of them in Czech).
Admission to all buildings is free and doesn't require prior registration, with the exception of Hotel Intercontinental. A number of buildings also offer tours in English during the weekend of the festival.
