You might be familiar with some of the videomapping done at Prague’s Signal Festival (and others) over the past few years, which transformed some of the city’s landmarks into living, breathing pieces of art.

But videomapping hasn’t only been used on the city’s architecture: interior locations such as concert halls and churches have seen their venues transformed in recent performances.

What better venue to take advantage of than Prague Planetarium? During last year’s Festival Spectaculare, the Planetarium was transformed into an immersive galaxy-hopping experience full of falling stars and swirling nebulas.

Visuals for the show were created by INITI’s Dan Gregor and Dalibor Cée, formerly of local videomapping group The Macula, which was set to a live concert performed by Norwegian electronic music artist Biosphere. Three consecutive shows were performed in front of sold-out crowds.

You can watch a ten-minute clip from the hour long show below, set to Biosphere’s Shield:

And here’s another, set to Chukhung and Disparu:

The Planetarium show was a one-time event, but you can catch some similarly-themed shows at the third edition of Festival Spectaculare, coming to Prague from January 20 – February 3.
