How to get there:

Flight: Turkish Airlines flies direct from Prague to Istanbul. In November, two people can fly there for 500-600 EUR.

To get from Istanbul Ataturk Airport to the city you can travel by bus (pricing), metro (pricing) or the express Havatas airport service bus (10 TL). A taxi will cost you about 35-40 TL (around 400 CZK)

Where to stay:
According to Lonely Planet, “Though Istanbul is no longer the bargain travel destination it was in the past, it still offers good value for money”. Most visitors stay north or south of the Golden Horn. South, according to Time Out Istanbul, “has traditionally been the center for the city’s budget and mid-range accommodations” (here you’ll find the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, and stunning views). To the north, offerings are in the mid to high range. The area of Beyoglu is often recommended.

Autumn Events:Contemporary Istanbul (Nov. 22-25), Istanbul Book Fair (Nov. 17-25)
