December 2:Xavier Baumaxa & Jazz Sextet (CZ)
Lucerna Music Bar, Praha
Jolly jazzy nights are brought to you by Czech artist Xavier Baumaxa, who just released a new double record, Dawntempo, in spring.

December 3:Crime + Mutanti hledaj východisko
Café V lese, Praha
Crime is the very new project of the Mika Risiko and Sarah Adorable duo, who are now presenting their new EP, Epiphany. Based on the sound of the 80’s synth pop music combined with a slight touch of dark electro beats, this event might get you just where you need to go for the night.

December 4:Nylon Jail (CZ)
Pilot, Praha
Czech progressive-rock band, that despite being very new, managed to climb their way up  to some of the biggest music festivals in Czech Republic, for instance Colours of Ostrava. With this event they will be celebrating two years of existence.

December 4:Jana Kirschner (SK)
Divadlo Archa, Praha
Slovak singer and songwriter of rare beauty and great appreciation, Jana Kirschner is coming to Prague to warm up the spirits in these cold December nights. Her newest album, Moruša, stirred a great amount of success and appreciation. Come and see for yourself!

December 5:Lydia Lunch Retrovirus (USA)
Malostranská beseda, Praha
Important artistic figure of New York, Lydia Lunch is returning to Prague, three years later, with her new project called Retrovirus. Subscribing to her typical no wave – avant-garde style, Retrovirus was recorded in her last concert at New York’s Knitting Factory.
 
December 6:Flunk (NOR) + Fiordmoss
Palác Akropolis, Praha
Various Norwegian artists have proved so far, that their capacity of creating music is slightly different than the rest of European music. Their music is somehow deeper and more direct when it comes to expressing feelings. Be prepared for Anja’s voice for it is wonderful!

December 7:Black Sabbath (UK)
O2 aréna, Praha
The dream of many rock fans will come true this month! Legendary heavy metal band Black Sabbath are now touring with their newest album, 13, and they are NOT skipping Prague!

December 8:Girls Against Boys (USA + Chokebore (USA) + Tomáš Palucha
Lucerna Music Bar, Praha
“Rock on!” – is the message for such a night! Free yourself and let your feelings go with the music of these two long-lasting indie rock/ post hardcore bands from the USA. Czech rock band of Tomáš Palucha will get you in the right mood!

December 10:Milow (BE)
Lucerna Music Bar, Praha
Best known for his huge hit Ayo Technology, Milow is a successful singer and songwriter whose music is easy to listen to and quite enjoyable! If you’re looking for a pleasant night out and a nice concert, this is the place for you!

December 11:Kid Congo Powers & The Pink Monkey Birds (USA)
Chapeau Rouge, Praha
Under the stage name of Kid Congo Powers & The Pink Monkey Birds lies Brian Tristan, a great American guitarist known also for his collaboration with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (on albums Tender Pray, The Good Son). Check him out, for he has a great artistic view!

December 12:The Young Gods (SUI)
Palác Akropolis, Praha
Swiss post-industrial band used to visit Prague quite often during the last years. Despite this, they never seem to run out of ideas, always spreading some crazy, energetic atmosphere all around during their playing.

December 13:Jarboe (USA) feat. P. Emerson Williams (USA)
Potrvá, Praha
Confront all superstitions and go out on Friday, the 13th, to this promising event of Jarboe featuring P. Emerson Williams. Known as a member of the post-punk, experimental band Swans, Jarboe will be joined by P. Emerson Williams on acoustic quitar.

December 18:Elton John (UK)
O2 aréna, Praha
Three years after his last visit to Prague, Elton John returns with a new album, The Diving Board. This month’s event that needs no further introduction!

December 18:Android Asteroid (CZ)
Lucerna Music Bar, Praha
Very nice Czech project of downtempo and electro music with light jazz and hip hop influences will definitely light up the atmosphere and your mood, sending you into a relaxing state of mind.

December 20:Blonde (UK)
NoD, Praha  
House music from the 90’s is brought to you by British musicians Adam Englefield and Jacob Manson, who will definitely make you feel the groove!

Decembe  21:Zrní + Václav Koubek (CZ)
Kostel sv. Šimona a Judy, Praha
Famous Czech band Zrni will be performing an acoustic pre-Christmas concert with their special guest Václav Koubek. In order to emphasize with the Christmas spirit, the concert will be held in the church St. Simon and Jude, in the centre of Prague.
