The 12th and final month of the year is already upon us. Snowfall should be expected. But that shouldn’t be an excuse to stay at home. There’s a whole heap of festive and non-festive events taking place in Prague. So get involved!

Music

3- Anthrax: Christmas comes early for rock fans! metal gods Anthrax bless the Lucerna

Music Bar stage. The five piece have been labeled as one of the “big four” when it comes to thrash metal. The group has enjoyed huge success, with 10 studio albums produced by the seemingly ever-changing lineup. Thrash metal legends. Plain and simple!

4 – Les Triaboliques: Justin Adams, Lu Edmonds, and Ben Mandelson combine sounds from their respective backgrounds: blues-soaked guitars, mandolin/barizouki world-strings, and vocals. A must-see show from some creative musicians!

5 – James Murphy: Co-founder of DFA Records, and former founding member of the extremely popular  LCD Soundsystem, which rose to fame back in 2002 with the contagious dance-floor hit “Losing My Edge”. James will be playing a special set with support from the Czech electronic outfit MIDI LIDI.

8 – Karel Gott Christmas Concert: The godfather of Czech easy-listening performs a special Christmas show in O2 Arena to get us all into the festive spirit. Thanks Karel!

8- Ferry Corsten: The Dutch producer of electronic dance music, also known as an expert DJ and remixer. Corsten hit the mainstream with DJ sets all over the world to huge appreciative crowds.

11- Selah Sue: Belgian musician and songwriter, Selah is possibly the nicest young lady in pop! Her live show combines new and older tracks from the musician plus some covers thrown in for good measure! I highly recommend this event. Pop, Soul and reggae all in one package!

11 – Cradle of Filth/ God Seed, Rotting Christ:  An evening featuring the heaviest in metal music. Not for the faint-hearted. Raising Phoenix hosts a night of extreme metal headed up by Suffolk’s very own Cradle of Filth.

14 – MAGNETIC Festival: The European electronic dance music experience for the new generation! A strong lineup all for a very reasonable price!

Food & Drink

Until 31- Christmas Menu at Le Papillon: Get your laughing gear round some tasty food and get into the holiday spirit with Le Papillon’s  fabulous Christmas menu!

27 – Christmas Brunch & Champagne: A spread full of delights for the whole family in the luxury restaurant AVANTGARDE!

31 – New Year’s Eve Celebration at Le Palais: No plans for NYE? Why not join the friendly folks at Le Palais? More info via their website.

Cultural Festivals

6-9 – Design Supermarket’12: The very best of fresh design. Make your way to Archa Theatre to purchase the most innovative works from Czech designers!

7-8 – Holešovice Fashion Market no.4: Need to get some last minute prezzies? Then the fourth Fashion Market is just the place for you! It aims to be bigger and better than previous years!
