The first year of the festival presents a selection of the best and most valued films of the past years. The festival opens with The Secret in Their Eyes, a film directed by Juan José Campanella, a detective story featuring a lawyer writing a novel about a real case of unsolved murder. The festival selection comprises also an earlier film by the same director, Son of the Bride. The director Fabian Bielinski is represented with two films – Nine Queens, a story of two criminals attempting to sell a set of extremely valuable rare stamps and Aura, a film about a taxidermist who decides to commit the perfect crime. Ricardo Darín, at present the biggest Argentinian film star can be seen in three of the films shown at the festival. The audience will also get the chance to see the first screening of The Student, a political thriller set in a university environment. The film has been praised as the best Argentinian film of 2011. A special screening of the four-hour long film Extraordinary Stories will be available free of charge.

All the screenings will be in Spanish with English subtitles.
