Admin in Music - Copyright Manager

Neighbouring Rights Group
Full-time  •   Remote work - Czechia
Seniority: Mid level  •  Education: Education not important

TL;DR

We are looking for a colleague for our admin team who will be in charge of smooth cooperation with music rights management organisations and ensure our clients are paid by fulfilling their administrative requirements.

LONG STORY

We make musicians' lives easier by handling the administrative burden of collecting royalties worldwide. We are a small but fierce company that started about eight years ago and is now among the best in the field.

Our business intersects admin, data, and music rights. You will be the most crucial admin team member, holding ownership over completing the legal paperwork. You will keep our clients' databases intact, prepare all their agreements, submit them to the collecting organisations, and ensure that all clients are accepted as members and subsequently paid.

You will learn about the different types of music rights and how musicians make money from them: Online forms or hand-signed papers? What kind of ID is sufficient? Where do we need a repertoire, and is the ISRC actually unique? And when a client tells us they released an album with yet another new pseudonym, you will be the person who knows exactly what to do. It is like a puzzle, and we hope you will enjoy putting the pieces together.

We expect from you:

  • Know how to work with data - Excel and Google Spreadsheets will be your primary tools, and you need to decipher the structure and understand the content.

  • Meticulousness - you will work with sensitive data and keep records that the whole team depends upon

  • Thirst for knowledge - we work in a specialised industry that is constantly changing; we are continually evolving our processes and adjusting to new legislation and technological advancements.

  • Fluent English - you will be in touch with worldwide collecting organisations daily.

  • Prior knowledge of music rights or library music is welcomed but not necessary.

How we work:

  • We keep as few meetings as possible. However, we rely on shared knowledge and enjoy discussing a problem together to ensure the best possible solution.

  • We are transparent and open and encourage constructive criticism. We want to know if you are happy with your job and what we can do better.

  • We focus on outcomes - your contributions are seen, recognised and appreciated.

  • We are humans first.

How will we onboard you:

  • We will start with an intense course on music rights and library music so you understand the core of the business and the industry value chain.

  • After this, we will explain the company's structure and workflow.

  • Then, you will be under the supervision of your experienced colleague, who will gradually explain all processes until you are ready to do them on your own

What we offer above salary:

  • Fulfilling work that helps musicians and where you will learn a lot.

  • Flexibility and home-office, independence and responsibility for your work and time management - results are important to us, not where and when you sit behind the screen.

  • Coaching and mentoring - we have a well-mastered methodology for management and planning.

  • Your opinions matter to us - we are a small team with transparent and open communication.

  • Brunches and margarita nights, do I need to say more? :)

  • If there is some other benefit you would like to see here, we will be happy to hear your suggestions.
