Due to our school’s unique bilingual model and rapid growth, teachers are expected to actively contribute to curriculum design and enhancement.
About us:
SCIS consists of four parts: an English Kindergarten (ages 2-6), a bilingual Elementary School first stage (Grades 1-5), bilingual Junior high (Grades 6-9), and bilingual High School (grades 10-13). In the Elementary and High Schools, approximately half of the curriculum content is delivered in Czech and half in English. The maximum number of students in classes are 14 for Kindergarten, 21 for Elementary, and 25 for high school. We are located in a suburb of Prague with a modern, purpose built, school building, a large green space playground, and a forest nearby. About 80% of children come from Czech families and 20% from various nationalities or multilingual families. We have a unique bilingual curriculum, accredited by both the Czech Ministry of Education and Cambridge International Examinations. Teachers are urged and expected to use interactive, hands-on instruction, making good use of outdoor learning where possible.
We offer:
Small class sizes and BYO device policy for older students
Structured internal training through the Sunny Canadian Training Centre plus funding for external training courses
Dedicated, purpose built teaching facilities
A stunning countryside location, just a few minutes from Prague Metro line C
A friendly, professional, highly dedicated group of colleagues
