Preschool Teacher – Maple Bear Elementary School

• In 2024, we opened the first Maple Bear school in the Czech Republic, and we are now looking for new teachers to join our growing community.

• We are searching for passionate and courageous educators who not only love teaching but also strive for continuous self-development. 

• We teach in tandem (a Czech-speaking and an English-speaking teacher) in modern school facilities at Kavčí Hory Office Park. 

• You will be teaching a preschool class (zero grade), where children aged 5–6 prepare for entry into first grade. This year focuses on the development of fine motor skills, reading, writing, and social skills. 

• Each class has a maximum of 15 children, and more than half of the educational activities are led together by two teachers – one speaking Czech and the other English. 

• Every day starts with a morning circle (circle time), where children share experiences, practice the calendar, and prepare for the day. This is followed by free play and activities that encourage their natural curiosity. 

• Learning sessions take place in both group and individual settings, focusing on development according to both Czech and Canadian curricula. There are breaks for snacks, outdoor play, and lunch, and instead of a traditional nap, children engage in relaxation activities. In the afternoon, learning continues, ending the day with free activities or extracurricular clubs. 

• You will work in tandem with a colleague responsible for the Czech part of the lessons, meaning mutual support, collaboration, and inspiration. 

✔ A degree in education (preferably focused on preschool or elementary school teaching) is necessary. TEFL certificate is NOT relevant for us. 
✔ No fear of using English (minimum B2 level), as you will use it daily when communicating with colleagues and children. 
✔ A willingness to try new things and continuously develop yourself. 
✔ Teamwork skills – close collaboration with your teaching partner is essential. 
✔ Patience, positivity, and friendliness – children and parents will appreciate it! 
✔ Willingness to participate in school events and contribute to a strong community atmosphere.
