There’s nothing quite like enjoying a drink at a Prague rooftop bar, the spires of the city unfolding before your eyes. But sweating it out atop a seven-storey building is another experience altogether and not such a common one – until now.
The YMCA Palace on Na Poříčí Street in Old Town is currently offering a rooftop “Fit Pause” every Monday for office workers in the neighborhood who wish to squeeze some stretching and breathing exercises into their day-to-day while enjoying a skyline view, says iHned.cz.
The program has been running since September 26 and will continue to meet on the roof of the building through October 10; as temperatures drop the sessions will take place in the YMCA building where Czech champion gymnasts Vera Čáslavská and Eva Bosáková once trained.
Stretching takes approximately 20 minutes and begins at 13:15; proceeds from the fitness classes (30 CZK is the recommended contribution) will benefit various children’s charities including the Masaryk Camp in Soběšín.
