Actor Kiefer Sutherland is also a musician, and he will be coming to Prague’s Lucerna Music Bar on February 15, 2020, for an early show starting at 6 pm.

Tickets are available the ticket booth and website of the venue as well as the GoOut.cz, Ticketmaster, and Ticketportal networks.

Kiefer Sutherland released his second album Reckless & Me this April, following his 2016 debut Down In A Hole.

Music critic Mark Beaumont in the UK newspaper The Guardian gave one of his concerts in London four out of five stars, saying, “He puts other Hollywood hobby acts to shame.” He added that Sutherland’s “whiskey-sodden country music set is genuinely poignant.”

Sutherland also has been known to tell stories “of boozy nights and childhood escapades” involving his father, actor Donald Sutherland, between the songs.

Referring to the younger Sutherland’s debut album the Associated Press said he had “unexpected, unvarnished authenticity as a singer/songwriter.” Music magazine Rolling Stone praised his passion.

Storytelling is what has drawn him to music. “I asked myself, ‘What is the thing that I love about acting and music? What is the common denominator?’ For me it’s storytelling and music is a very different way of doing it,” he said, according to Broadway World, which praised his songwriting and “whiskey-soaked and gravel-laced voice.”

He
also said he has fallen in love with touring and the opportunity to
share personal stories with an audience.

“As an actor, I know that the ability to connect with the audience lies in the power of the story or character. But this is something else. These are personal stories of my life. Even though I am lucky in my life, there are things you cannot avoid — your friends are dying, something will disappoint you a lot, someone will break your heart. I hope my songs will help me and the audience realize that none of us is involved in this alone. There’s some relief. At least for me,” he said on his website.

Sutherland originally wrote songs for his first album with the intention of pitching them to established artists. A producer friend heard the demos and convinced him to record them himself. He also had experience playing in a cover band for three years to small crowds in bars before venturing to play his own music live.

Reckless & Me came together during Sutherland’s concert tour in support of his first album. He wrote all 10 songs, with the occasional contribution of longtime friend and producer Jude Cole.

They recorded most of the album in two sets of sessions, each spanning three or four days, at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles. He said he was inspired by the location’s rich history, and especially by posing next to a photo of Paul McCartney looking back at a photo of Frank Sinatra. The supporting musicians include guitarist Waddy Wachtel (Stevie Nicks), drummer Brian MacLeod (Sheryl Crow) and pianist Jim Cox.

Sutherland’s acting credits include Stand By Me, The Lost Boys, Young Guns, Flatliners, A Few Good Men, A Time to Kill, Dark City, Forsaken, Melancholia, and the TV series 24.
