American singer-songwriter Sam Beam, better known by the stage name Iron & Wine, has announced his 2018 European tour dates with a Prague stop on the list for a February 8 gig at Divadlo Hybernia.

The South Carolina native and his band will play in support of Iron & Wine’s latest offering Beast Epic (Sub Pop), their sixth studio album, an acoustic set that sees the performer return to a more stripped down melodic style.

Beam’s first Iron & Wine album, The Creek Drank the Cradle, came out in 2002. Featuring acoustic guitars, banjo, and slide guitar, the album’s music drew comparisons to Nick Drake, Simon and Garfunkel, Elliott Smith, and Neil Young.

He has recently worked on collaborative records with Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses and a covers album with Jesca Hoop.

The title of the new album, a collection of both breezy and melancholic indie folk songs, refers to narrative verses where the characters are animals with human emotions.

Tickets are 690-990 CZK and go on sale today.
