The longest tree-top skywalk in Europe has opened at Pustevny in the Beskydy Mountains.

The Stezka Valaška, or Valaška Trail, which had its grand opening last week, is similar to attractions in Jeseníky, Šumava, and Krkonoše offering panoramic views among the clouds, but is distinguished by its 150-meter-long rope-lined walkway and glass skywalk at an altitude of 1,099 meters.

Built over a period of five years, this newly opened walkway in the trees, promises not only sweeping views of Wallachia but a 22-meter high tower observatory.

Builders say they used 15,935 meters of wood and 21,000 bolts and screws to assemble the open-year-round behemoth.

The trail also features a number of stops where visitors can learn about the Beskydy mountains and the surrounding area.

The Beskydy mountain range is located in the Moravian–Silesian region; the resort town of Pustevny is near the Radhošť mountain peak, a mythical Slavic site that features a chapel (built in 1898) and a sculpture of Saints Cyril and Methodius at its summit.

Both peak and sculpture are visible from the trail.
