Concrete Oasis or Granny’s Flat? Prague’s Newest Summer Hangouts

Prague has seen its fair share of multi-function culture spaces spring up over the past couple years, a few just this summer alone, combining all the elements of a perfect party (food, drink, and music) with something for culture vultures (installations, exhibits, and theater).

With enough converted industrial spaces and historic buildings among them to satisfy even the pickiest scenester—i.e. those who make the rounds at Karlín Barracks, Pragovka, Přístav 18600, Nákladové Nádraži Žižkov—a couple new entries have come across our radar just in time for making weekend plans in Prague:

Organizers say that their urban oasis between Praha-Bubny railway station and the Výstaviště Exhibition Grounds will soon be opening an attic chill-out space and hosting regular tastings in its fully stocked wine cellar.

The new art space has already exhibited a number of high profile international artists in its gallery; bonfires and food pop-ups are also on the program. This weekend’s events include experimental electro in the courtyard.

Also in the neighborhood, Továrna is worth a mention for its line-up of events; though not new, it is continually opening spaces within its industrial building on Delnicka Street.
