Czech public offices to be opened for two days per week, three hours per day through April 11

Prague, March 31 (CTK) – Public offices will be opened in the Czech Republic for two days a week for three hours only and offer just limited services at least by April 11 within the restrictions to curb the coronavirus spread that the government prolonged on Monday and released on its website.

The cabinet agreed with the Health Ministry’s special measures prolonging the validity of restrictions by April 11, Easter Saturday, such as a limited free movement of people across the country and the closure of all restaurants and most retail shops.

Under the original measures, which took effect on March 16, the operation of public offices should have been limited by this morning only.

Public offices can only be opened on Mondays and Wednesdays for three hours a day and should replace personal contacts with citizens by written or online forms and by phone in all possible cases.

Offices have limited their services to the agenda that is absolutely needed to secure the public administration functioning.

Under the government directive, they should secure their work with the lowest possible number of employees physically present in office and prevent possible quarantine of their employees from threatening the whole functioning.
