The next two Winter Olympics are slated to take place in Asia (PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022) but today reports are circulating that neighboring nations Poland and the Czech Republic are in early talks over a joint 2030 winter games bid.

According to Polish sports daily Przeglad Sportowy, an opening ceremony could potentially take place in Wroclaw with a closing ceremony in the Czech capital of Prague.

The cities of Karpacz and Szklarska Poreba, located on the Czech border, have been identified as possible hosts.

The National Olympic Committee is expected to hold further talks with government officials throughout the coming year.

The 2030 Winter Olympics are not scheduled to be awarded until 2023.

Meanwhile, the Canadian city of Calagary is poised to make a bid alongside Innsbruck, Austria and cities in Switzerland, Sweden, and Norway for the 2026 winter games.
