Czech Republic Ranks High in Well-Being Index

This year the country is six spots behind the US says a new report focused on quality of life in 160 countries

An analysis by the Boston Consulting Group focusing on the well-being of people in more than 160 countries worldwide has ranked the Czech Republic among the top 30 countries in the world to live in.

Norwary once again placed first while among the former socialist countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Slovenia ranked highest (#22). The Czech Republic came in at #25 on the Thirty Best Countries index with a score of 78.4.

Of the Thirty Worst Countries index, the last-place ranking went to Central African Republic.

Using publicly available data, analysts evaluated ten areas: economic growth (gross domestic product), the stability of the economy, the labor market situation (unemployment), quality health care, infrastructure (transport or internet connection), public administration, education and the environment, and also revenue differences and the status of so-called civil society.

Northern and Western European countries, with the exception of Australia at #5, dominated the top slots. The Czech Republic scored six places behind the US and outranked Spain, Portugal, and Poland in quality of living stats.
