Czech Republic’s Restaurant of the Year Announced

Other categories awarded included best service, most-improved, and best outside of Prague

The results of a survey compiled by Czech reservations system and food guide Restu and Mattoni Mineral water were recently anncounced, naming a Restaurant of the Year among a number of other categories.

Of the more than 4,600 participating restaurants on the “cutting edge culinary” scene, Café Savoy, headed by Chef Roman Frencl, took home top honors. It placed first not only among Prague restaurants but also in the top 100 in the Czech Republic.

Annual rankings are compiled using a mobile application that lets diners check-in and review more than 4,600 participating restaurants. Nearly 70,000 verified reviews were tabulated to arrive at the 2015 winners, with votes nearly doubling this year, according to organizers.

Categories included an overall Top 100, Top Service (Bílý Mlýn in Liberec edged out Čestr in Prague for no.1), Top Outside of Prague (Restaurace Olivier in České Budějovice), Top Restaurant for each of the 14 regions in the Czech Republic, Top Atmosphere (Medieval Tavern Dětenice), and Most Improved (Bruxx in Prague).
