The first snowfall of the 2018/2019 season is predicted to hit many areas of the Czech Republic, including the capital region, on Monday morning (November 19), according to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.

“”You’d better change to winter tires over the weekend,” the CHMU said on Facebook yesterday evening.

“Monday morning we could wake up [to snowfall] in many places. Cold air from the northeast will flow into the Czech Republic.”

While sunny skies are predicted for most of the holiday weekend – November 17 is Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Day, a national holiday in the Czech Republic – overcast skies and cooler temperatures are forecast by late Sunday.

Going into Monday morning, that could mean snow in many areas of the Czech Republic.

High temperatures of 5 and lows of -4 are in the forecast for Monday, with the cooler weather continuing into early next week.

On Monday, snow and snow showers are forecast for many areas of the Czech Republic, including Prague, and the weather is expected to last throughout next week.
