Prague, March 12 (CTK) – There are 109 cases of the novel coronavirus in the Czech Republic, with three of them being serious, Health Minister Adam Vojtech (ANO) told journalists today.

Sanitary officials are still tracking down the people who were in contact with infected persons, Vojtech said.

During today, the number of coronavirus patients rose by 15.

“In all regions of the Czech Republic, there is at least one patient with the disease,” Vojtech said.

The disease has a serious course in the Japanese patient in Prostejov, central Moravia, and a taxi driver in the Prague Na Bulovce hospital.

The health condition of an elderly woman in Brno is stable.

“We do not give up the tracking down of the contacts as it still makes sense,” Vojtech said, referring to a WHO recommendation.

The first confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus appeared in the Czech Republic on March 1. Most cases have been in Prague and the Usti and Central Bohemia regions. None of them has been lethal.

Earlier today, the Czech Republic declared a state of emergency and closed all gyms, wellness and entertainment facilities, and limited the hours of operation of restaurants from 6:00 – 20:00.
