A hunter has lost his rifle after a deer took it and ran off in a forest in Český Krumlov.
Hunts regularly take place in the Horní Planá forest, but according to iDnes, this one went terribly wrong after the deer was startled by a dog and ripped the sleeve of the hunter's jacket, before making off with the gun.
South Bohemian police spokesman Jiří Matzner said:
"The rifle got hung up, fortunately without ammunition and magazine, on the deer's antlers - and he ran off with it."
The hunter’s colleague saw the deer with the weapon around a kilometer from where the incident happened, but later, when they searched the forest it couldn’t be found.

Matzner added:
"If anyone finds a weapon, they are obliged to hand it over to the nearest police department. Or report the finding on 158."
