Prague Airport is embracing the holiday season with a blend of creativity and charity. This year's Christmas campaign, presented this weekend, includes a striking visual display from one of its runways, where airport vehicles were arranged into a colorful silhouette of a Christmas tree, complete with flashing lights and beacons.

The airport is also hosting several seasonal events, including a charity Christmas market and live musical performances on Dec. 12, to bring holiday cheer to passengers and visitors alike.

A Christmas tree on the runway

The illuminated Christmas tree on runway 12/30 serves as the central theme of Prague Airport’s holiday campaign. Crafted from 32 airport vehicles with their lights and beacons aglow, the display was filmed using drones to capture its vibrant spectacle from above.

The effort involved airport personnel from multiple departments, including security, terminal operations, maintenance, and fire services, who collaborated to create this unique holiday display. This visually striking moment is featured in the airport’s latest marketing video.

"Our video celebrates Christmas and wishes everyone a wonderful start to 2025," Eva Krejčí, the airport’s head of communications and marketing, says through a press release. "It encourages people to view life with a sense of perspective, which the holiday season naturally invites."

The campaign also extends beyond the video, with the runway Christmas tree imagery appearing in online media, on outdoor displays, and within the airport itself.

Charity market and Christmas cards

Prague Airport’s annual charity Christmas market is set to take place on Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the walkway connecting Terminals 1 and 2. The market will feature products from organizations supporting individuals with disabilities and caring for abandoned animals.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Lucky Voice Band will perform later the same day, singing Czech and international Christmas songs throughout the airport's halls. The performances will take place in several locations across the airport, including the arrivals hall in Terminal 1, the departures area of Terminal 2, and Gate D1, starting at 5:30 p.m.

Prague Airport has also launched a dedicated website that allows users to create personalized Christmas cards. A custom message can be added to designs incorporating the runway Christmas tree and shared with friends and family.

For passengers travelling during the holidays, the airport has one more small present in store. Travelers arriving to the Czech capital on Christmas Eve will be treated to gingerbread cookies made by local bakers.
