Saturday, September 15 to Sunday, September 16 will be devoted to teaching kids about Prague Castle, the largest ancient castle complex in the world.

While the tiny cottages of Golden Lane, the Toy Museum, and the New World playground have historically kept children entertained in the castle district, the crowds, lack of pit-stop options, and stroller-challenging terrain can make it one of Prague’s less kid-friendly attractions.

The Story of Prague Castle, a permanent exhibition located in the Old Royal Palace, offers families a lesser-known option for educational fun: a “Castle Game” with special tasks designed to educate on the castle’s history and the people associated with it; monarchs and presidents, nobles and courtiers, artists, builders, architects, and scientists.

After leaving the exhibition space, visitors can explore the nooks and crannies of the castle grounds with a better understanding of its majesty.

This coming weekend, a two-day event will accompany the exhibition. Families can look forward to completing six tasks, while fencers, art workshops, and a demonstration of old crafts will be on hand for a festive atmosphere.

Admission is free and the event runs from 10:00-17:00.

The starting point is at the North Palace Court.

See the official castle page for more information.
