Is It Too Early to Consult a Fertility Specialist?

According to the professionals at Prague Fertility Centre, seeking expert advice doesn't automatically mean you'll embark on the complex journey of in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

Instead, it means understanding your unique situation better. During the consultation, the specialists at PFC conduct thorough examinations of both partners, striving to identify or rule out the causes of infertility in both men and women.

Dr. Švabíková, Chief Physician at PFC, highlights the holistic approach to infertility treatment.

"At the Prague Fertility Centre, we focus on treating infertility as a couple issue, not just as a woman's problem" she said.

The examination of women typically commences with an ultrasound scan of the uterus, ovaries and blood tests.

Additionally, PFC checks levels of the hormone AMH, which serves as an indicator of ovarian reserve, and evaluates thyroid health.

During the exam, specialists will also conduct a semen analysis, evaluating three basic parameters: sperm concentration per milliliter, sperm motility, and morphology (size and shape of sperm).

Dr. Švabíková underscores the importance of personal and family history during these consultations.

"We evaluate everything individually in relation to age, the anamnesis of both partners and their current life situation and wishes. The treatment plan is always a joint decision between the doctor and the couple being treated" she explained.

What happens if a cause of infertility is detected?

In cases where infertility is diagnosed in either partner or both, the Prague Fertility Centre offers tailored solutions. Treatment plans may involve addressing identified conditions, exploring or considering artificial insemination or IVF treatment. The ultimate decision always rests with the couple, but the event gives couples the opportunity to work with the center’s dedicated team of doctors and take a first step toward parenthood.

Take the first step toward realizing your dream of parenthood. Book your consultation now and partner with the Prague Fertility Centre during the Prague Fertility Days this September. Your journey towards parenthood begins here.
