A policeman patrolling Prague 5 made an unusual find yesterday afternoon when passing by a series of suitcases and a plastic bag strewn across a park pathway.

The officer immediately noticed something was wrong when he heard cries emanating from within the bags, according to iDnes.cz

Upon opening the zipped suitcases, he found a total of eight puppies younger than two months old.

The discovery was captured on video:

The officer immediately notified animal control, who transported the puppies to the Trója Dog Shelter. No signs of animal abuse were detected.

“The puppies had mild hypothermia and it was apparent that they were underfed. Now, they are very lively and enjoying the warmth,” said shelter manager Václav Steinbauer.
