SCYTHE, HARVEST, FROLIC

The cherry harvest season has arrived slightly early this year, meaning the traditional Cherry Picking on Třešňovka Hill in Prague-Hrdlořezy is rolling out across the weekend. Bring a wicker basket and romanticise your weekend with walks through orchards, an outdoor cinema screening of North of the Sun, fire-side storytelling, fermentation workshops, and a Sunday morning breakfast.

Keep your thumbs green for the 11th Mowing in Stromovka event, where the flowery meadow in Stromovka Park will be filled with singing, dancing, and scything. In a whimsical pastoral celebration, the City of Prague invites all to come mow the grass and enjoy coffee from Cukrárna Alchymista.

The horticultural revelry doesn’t stop there, as gardens across the Czech Republic will be open to the public on June 8 and 9 for Open Garden Weekend. In Prague alone, 15 private and public gardens, such as the Ctěnice and Troja castle grounds, will be open to explore with accompanying programs.

STREET ACTS AND STEEPLES

The popular Prague-based artist Léna Brauner, known for her fantastical artwork with non-traditional mediums and 65,000-strong Instagram following, is holding an exhibition at Invalidovna from June 6-8. Browse her quirky artwork and witness improvised performances in the iconic Prague space.

Over 120 artists will be spilling onto the streets of Prague across 20 different locations for the ninth year of the biggest busker festival in the Czech Republic, Prague Lives with Music. Spot the mascot, a red streetwalker, and support hundreds of buskers alongside official performances by brass bands, string quartets, and Latin American ensembles.
