Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke to play Prague’s Forum Karlín in 2020

Yorke, best-known
for fronting Radiohead, will be coming with his Tomorrow’s Modern
Boxes electronic music side project. Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich
and visual artist Tarik Barri will create live computer visuals. The
trio takes its name from Yorke’s second solo album, released as a
download in September 2014.

The Prague show will
be the next-to-last date in the tour, sandwiched in between shows at
Slovakia’s Pohoda Festival and the tour closer in Berlin, so there
is little chance to add another Prague show if it sells out quickly,
and it likely will.

Yorke,
along with the other members
of Radiohead, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in
2019.

He began playing guitar at age 7, taking inspiration from Queen’s Brian May. He built his own guitar when he was 10. and formed his first band when he was 11.

Radiohead, originally called On a Friday, formed in 1985 when Yorke met the other band members in public school though it took several years for them to release “Creep,” their first single, in 1992.

He has been active
in promoting human rights, animal rights, the environment, and
anti-war causes. He has been critical of major music labels and
streaming services, which has led him to explore different methods of
releasing music such as via BitTorrent.
