Weather in the Czech Republic will see a big shift during the first week of November. Temperatures in Prague may break an almost century-old record high on Monday, November 2, but then drop to near freezing during a mostly cloudy and rainy week.

Temperatures at the beginning of the week will be significantly above average despite heavy clouds and precipitation, due to a warm front from the remnants of Hurricane Zeta, which hit the United States in the last week of October before turning and heading across the Atlantic toward Europe.

Monday will be the warmest day of the week, and may reach 19 degrees Celsius, which break the Prague record from 1924, when it reached 17 degrees at the Klementinum weather station.

Despite the above-average temperature, it will be cloudy or overcast in the sky, with light rain that will gradually cease.

A cold front will come in on Tuesday. It will be partly cloudy to cloudy at the beginning of the day, with the possibility of fog or low clouds. Clouds will increase and it may rain. The high in Prague is expected to drop to 15 degrees and night temperatures will drop to a low of 9 degrees, and even lower in other parts of the Czech Republic.

The clouds and overcast sky will continue into Wednesday will bring more rain, which will stop as the sky gradually clears. Daytime temperatures should reach a high of 9 degrees. Night temperatures will fall to a low of around 3 degrees.

Thursday should be partly cloudy, with a high in the day of 9 degrees, but it should drop to 3 degrees Celsius in the night, and dip below freezing in other areas of the country.

Friday through Sunday should also be partly cloudy, with Saturday possibly being mostly sunny. Highs are expected to be around 10 degrees in the day and low of 3 degrees at night in Prague, with below freezing temperatures again in some parts of the country.
