The Czech Republic is the world’s best country for women to work, says Forbes

Only Bahrain and Taiwan topped the Czech Republic among working expats asked to evaluate their career prospects and satisfaction, work and leisure, and economy and job security.

But with International Women’s Day just around the corner (next Friday, March 8), Forbes dug a little deeper into the InterNations to find out how women, specifically, rated their work-life experiences in countries around the world.

And according to expat women, the Czech Republic has come out as the #1 working destination across the globe, with a whopping 83% of women stating that they were happy with their jobs in the country.

Only 72% of men, by the way, stated that they were happy with their jobs in the Czech Republic.

“Czechia has constantly climbed up the ranking of the best countries for women working abroad,” said InterNations head of content and communications Kathrin Chudoba.

“While it only ranked 26th in 2015, it was voted the best country for women working abroad in the latest Expat Insider survey. Female expats are now significantly happier in their jobs in the country.”

Female expats in the Czech Republic rated the country higher than men across the other categories, too: 78% of women stated that they were satisfied with their job security in the Czech Republic (vs. 66% of men in the country), 73% of women were satisfied with their career prospects (63% of men), and 79% were satisfied with their work-life balance (78% of men).

Those numbers combined to rate the Czech Republic as the #1 destination across the globe for working women, topping Bahrain and Taiwan, which slipped to #2 and #3 in the list of top-rated countries for expat women to work, respectively.

Norway and Denmark rounded out the top 5. In 2017, expat women voted Bahrain as the top working destination in the InterNations survey, with the Czech Republic coming in at #2.
