A benefit concert for victims of the devastating tornado that swept through South Moravia last week will take place at Prague's Wenceslas Square on Wednesday, July 7, with all proceeds directed to donations.

The concert will feature performances by top local acts including Rybičky 48, Xindl X, Pavel Callta, Klára Vytisková, Slza, O5 & Radeček, Poetics, Juraj Hnilica, and James Harries, who will all perform without compensation.

The concert, titled Together with Moravia, will be moderated by Czech actors by Sandra Pogodová and Ondřej Lechnýř, and take place from 8:00 p.m. with a live broadcast on YouTube and other streaming platforms.

Viewers can attend the concert in Prague or watch online for free, but are asked to donate online through the Via Foundation, which was among the first and most prominent Czech charities to arrange a collection for tornado victims in South Moravia.

The Via Foundation has collected more than 200 million crowns (€8 million euro) for tornado victims so far; combined with other Czech charities, more than one billion crowns has been raised to date. Damages from the tornado are estimated to be a minimum of 15 billion crowns.

You can donate to the destroyed villages in South Moravia through the Via Foundation at this link.

Wednesday's concert is among a number of recent events designed to raise funds for victims in South Moravia. A concert by the Czech Philharmonic and the Brno Philharmonic took place on Saturday, July 3.
