His efforts, following a rebirth of foreign filming in the country, might already be paying off.

A news report on TV Nova last week covered recent foreign productions shooting in the Czech Republic, such as the new Mozart movie that is currently filming.

They also drop interesting tidbit: that portions of the upcoming blockbuster sequel Transformers 5 would be filmed in the Czech Republic.

An article posted to Nova’s tabloid site TN.cz claims that producers of the film had been in the country recently to scout locations (the Nova TV report is also contained in that link).

While the Transformers sequel will primarily be set and filmed in the US state of Michigan, the production could also shoot at Czech studios and local locations could be used to cannily fill in.

The country is no stranger to blockbuster films, with movies such as Mission: Impossible 4 and G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra shot in Prague in recent years.

Transformers 5: Rise of Unicron is set to be released in the summer of 2017, from director Michael Bay and star Mark Wahlberg, returning from the previous film.

The previous four films in the franchise have grossed a combined $3.7 billion worldwide.
