American author Dan Brown’s upcoming novel, The Secret of Secrets, will take place in Prague, the world-famous writer announced this week. Brown will incorporate the city’s historical and cultural elements into the latest adventure of his well-known protagonist, Robert Langdon.

The book is scheduled for release on Sept. 9, 2025, and will be published in English by Doubleday and in Czech by Argo Publishing under the title Secret of All Secrets.

Brown, whose books have been translated into 56 languages and sold over 250 million copies, described the novel as one of his most complex works. "Writing this book has been an unforgettable journey of discovery," Brown said.

In the novel, Langdon travels to Prague to attend a lecture by Katherine Solomon, a noetics researcher with whom he has a personal relationship. Solomon is preparing to release a book that challenges widely held beliefs about human consciousness.

When a violent incident occurs and Solomon disappears, Langdon becomes involved in a search that leads him through Prague’s historical sites and beyond. The story later expands to London and New York, as Langdon encounters various obstacles while trying to uncover the truth.

"This is my most ambitious novel yet, with the most elaborate plot—and also the most entertaining"

Protagonist Langdon has appeared in Brown’s other famous works: Angels & Demons (2000); The Da Vinci Code (2003); The Lost Symbol (2009); Inferno (2013); and Origin (2017).

Petr Onufer, an editor at Argo Publishing who worked with Brown on the manuscript, noted that the novel presents Prague in a unique way.

"Dan Brown’s novels often highlight their settings from unexpected perspectives. His depiction of Prague offers an interesting lens through which to view the city," Onufer said.

Brown is best known for books such as The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons. In his latest work, he says he will continue to explore themes of history, science, and symbolism.
