The biggest and most successful show about the history of video games and video game consoles, organized by the Barbican and the city of London, has been visited by more than 3.5 million people in more than forty cities worldwide.

And now it’s coming to Prague.

More than 150 games and gaming devices from the 1960s to the present will be on view at Pražská tržnice (all 2,000 m2 of Hall 40) in Holešovice from September 21.

Part museum and part arcade, the Game On exhibit is an immersive gaming experience that promises hands-on gaming fun as well as the opportunity to see vintage collector’s items.

Visitors can play some 150 classic games including Pong, Space Invaders, Super Mario and Grand Theft Auto, as well as legendary arcade games like Star Wars 1983 Atari, a James Bond GoldenEye 007 game, and Tomb Raider from 1996 featuring the famous Lara Croft.

Modern gaming will be represented with virtual reality and a special section devoted to the innovative Czech gaming scene.

A rich accompanying program has been planned: tournaments, public lectures, and visits from icons of the Czech gaming scene.

Tickets are 350 CZK for adults; family passes and discounted admission is available.

Game On runs through December 30, 2017.

In recent years, more opportunities to play classic video games have popped up in the Czech capital and beyond, including the Arcade Museum in Červený Újezd and the newly opened Joystick Bar in Old Town.
