The Faculty of Social Sciences (FSV UK) is a part of one of the oldest and largest universities in the world which was founded in 1348 by Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV.
Charles University (CU) is one of the top 100 universities in Europe, currently number two among the EECA countries and it’s among the top 2 % of universities worldwide according to the QS World University Rankings 2022.
The Faculty of Social Sciences is one of the youngest faculties of Charles University, but it has been a regional centre of teaching and research since its establishment in 1990. It is a top scientific workplace with an international reach and often hosts leading international experts as lecturers and researchers. FSV UK offers some of the highest quality Bachelor, Master and PhD degree programmes in Central and Eastern Europe in all fields of social sciences.

FSV UK has one of the highest international mobility participation rates of all the faculties at Charles University. Each year, we welcome more than 500 exchange students from all over the world.
For academic year 2024/2025, the preliminary application deadline is June 30, 2024 and extended application deadline is August 31, 2024. The extended deadlines are strongly recommended to students who already possess the legal right to long-term stay in Czechia.
