Golden Tikka restaurant in Konviktská 9 is traditional indian non-smoking restaurant situated in the historical centre of Prague.
The restaurant is located in a quiet street near to the Charles bridge and the National Theatre. The restaurant was built up in a lower ground floor formely being a cellar several year ago. The inner space is thus dominated by distinctive arches which give the restaurant special warm atmosphere. The interior is simple, but cozy. Walls are adorned with oil paintings by Czech artist Jiří Končel of scenes of contemporary daily life in India. The restaurant was opened in May 2009. At weekdays the reasonable price lunch menu is very popular.
The owner and most of the staff and mainly cooks are Indians from Punjab, from where comes the best indian dishes and recipes worldwide well known like Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka and all other specialities made in Tandoor, Shahi Paneer and all types of dishes contains paneer – home made cheese, Dal Makhani, Chana Masala, etc. Punjab is also home to indian breads – chapatis, rotis, naans and paranthas. You can find all of them and more traditional punjabi dishes in our menu plus other indian specialities like Chicken Madras or Vindaloo. Our cooks use mostly fresh vegetables and meat and original Indian ingredients and spices. They prepare every day wide range of vegetarian dishes, juicy chicken and tender lamb dishes, fishes and prawns. Lot of dishes are prepared in tandoor clay owen. All this make the service and food highly authentic and traditional.
