40 Feathered Winks (40 opeřených křídel)s)

“Disarming and totally original theatre which has one holding one’s breath. Inspired and beautiful” ****The Scotsman

Following the success of the company´s new devised show at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2007 The Paper Birds

…One third of human life is spent in bed; living, resting, crying, hiding, lovemaking, sleeping, dreaming and dying. 40 Feathered Winks explores the bed as a universal and personal place in which we shut out the rest of the world and experience some of the most profound human emotions and happenings. In this magical theatrical experience the conscious and unconscious mind interweaves forming a patchwork story of 8 characters as they journey in, under and over their beds.

Live original music accompanies this spectacular visual and physical exploration of time passed horizontally from sleepovers to hangovers, clinical depression to orgasms.

The Paper Birds are a touring theatre company based in Leeds, England. Since forming in 2003 The Paper Birds have co-written a television show for the BBC, devised and performed a stage production for the Northern Exposure Festival in association with the West Yorkshire Playhouse and have completed national tours of the company´s acclaimed In a Month of Fallen Sundays (2004) and Accidentally Waiting to Happen (2006) including four visits to the Edinburgh fringe festival.
