As the year draws to a close, a welcome event returns to Prague in the form of the city's Week of Free Sports, an annual tradition now in its fifteenth consecutive year. Organized by the city, this initiative invites Prague residents to engage in a week full of sports and physical activities, fostering a healthy and active lifestyle to close out 2023.

From Monday, December 25th, through Sunday, December 31st, participants can enjoy free access to numerous sports venues across Prague, showcasing the city's commitment to promoting fitness and well-being.

This year, Prague offers a diverse array of sports activities through collaborations with local swimming pools, ice skating rinks, sports clubs, and much more. A full list of participating venues can be found on the event's official website.

Residents are encouraged to break away from the holiday inertia, choosing from over three dozen sports clubs and venues. Whether it's swimming, ice skating, football, table tennis, or trying out a new and unconventional sport, there's something for everyone. The initiative aims to blend the festive season's tranquility with the joy of active movement.

Prague's Week of Free Sports is made possible through collaboration with sports facility operators in the city. Participating venues extend free admission to Prague citizens during the designated week.

Due to capacity constraints at some locations, reservations, either by phone or online, may be required. Free access may be limited to selected days and hours rather than the entire Christmas holiday.

Prague, renowned as a sports-centric city, has witnessed significant attendance in past years, with thousands embracing the opportunity to engage in various sports activities. The event has become an annual tradition, promoting community health and fitness.

The Week of Free Sports aligns with Prague's commitment to an active lifestyle and serves as a healthy way to wrap up the year. With more than a decade of success, the event continues to motivate and inspire Prague residents to embrace sports and physical activity.

For detailed information on participating venues and their specific terms, visit the event's official website. Be sure to make reservations in advance to secure your spot and make the most of this annual event.
