Visit the National Museum for free

ICYMI: The National Museum will offer free entry on Sunday, Nov. 24, instead of the usual Nov. 17, to avoid disruption from an anti-government protest near Wenceslas Square. This one-time adjustment is due to the protest organized by Czech Republic First, demanding the removal of the Ukrainian national flag from the museum’s façade. Regular admission applies this week.

Enjoy film from down under

From Nov. 15-20, enjoy the 11th annual Aussie & Kiwi Film Fest, showcasing the best of contemporary cinema from Australia and New Zealand. The festival features premieres, documentaries, short films, and a range of cultural events.

Black Friday sales begin

Black Friday discounts are in full swing, with Czech retailers offering extended sales and new rules requiring disclosure of the lowest price in the past 30 days. Shoppers should beware of misleading discounts—use price comparison tools and reputable e-shops to avoid being misled.

Book your Thanksgiving dinner

Whether you crave a gourmet spread, down-home cooking, or flavors from home, you'll find them all in our guide to the best festive feasts on Nov. 28. Many restaurants and caterers fill up quickly and require reservations or orders by the end of this week. See you our article here for a complete guide to book your spot.

Christmas markets open this week

The holiday season kicks off with the opening of Prague’s Christmas markets, starting at Náměstí Míru on Nov. 20. The iconic Old Town Square market opens on Nov. 30, with Wenceslas Square following suit. These markets run through early January, with some closing on Christmas Eve.
