Note temporary tram changes

The Prague City Transport Company (DPP) has completed the extension of tram line 19 to Pankrác, which began operating this weekend from Saturday, Dec. 14. From January 6, 2025, the tram will serve as replacement transport during the temporary closure of the Pankrác C metro station for renovations. These upgrades include new escalators and construction of interchanges with metro line D. The temporary tram service will connect passengers from nearby metro stations to Pankrác.

Get into the holiday 'flow'

In Flow, Latvian filmmaker Gints Zilbalodis crafts a silent, visually stunning animated tale of survival and unity. As a great flood devastates the world, a solitary cat joins diverse species on a small boat, navigating mystical landscapes and dangers in a wordless odyssey. Combining video game-inspired aesthetics and universal themes, Flow captivates audiences of all ages with its unique approach to storytelling. See it at Edison Filmhub’s Movie Barf Monday on Dec. 16 with a live Q&A with Zilbalodis.

Order your gifts before time runs out

Major carriers in Czechia, including Česká pošta, DPD, PPL, Zásilkovna, and GLS, have announced their deadlines for guaranteed delivery by Dec. 24—most falling on Dec. 19 or 20. With demand surging and storage times at pick-up points shrinking to as little as 24 hours, you might not get your preferred delivery box, especially in busy areas. To beat the holiday rush, keep an eye on e-shop processing times and take advantage of self-service boxes, many open 24/7. See our round-up of key deadlines and dates to know.

See art on the way to work

A collection of artwork by Ukrainian children from Kharkiv, titled Underground Garden, is now on display at Prague’s Národní třída metro station until December 2024. Created by young artists from the Aza Nizi Maza studio, the artworks reflect the resilience of families living in metro stations during the Russian invasion of 2022. This exhibition symbolizes hope and survival, connecting to Prague’s own history of fighting for freedom. The artworks will also be shown at Troja Chateau’s stables until the end of December, emphasizing the power of art in overcoming adversity.
