On March 7th, 2008 the British Chamber of Commerce held a “Come Together” gala evening for its patrons and members in the newly opened Hilton Prague Old Town Hotel
Prague, 10th March 2008 – The BCC selected Kolping House, an asylum for mothers and children, as its events charity to acknowledge International Women´s Day, which is on March 8th.
Joint chairpeople Richard Lappin, from International Power, and Eva Williams, from Tesco, introduced the evening by celebrating the remarkable turn-around in a very short time in the fortunes of the British Chamber. The Chamber was fully functional again with a new energetic executive team, member retention was high and this Gala Evening had easily been a sell out.
“Tonight we acknowledge the important people who built the foundations of the chamber over the last 10 years and more importantly recognize the sea change that has happened in the last few months and the positive positioning that now will enable the British Chamber to exploit the opportunities of the immediate future and next ten years.“ said Simon Rawlence.
Mike Moon, representing the British Embassy and UK Trade and Investment, spoke of its close and unique co-operation with the British Chamber in Czech Republic.
Gordon Ramsay´s Maze Restaurant catered the event, and the dance floor heaved to the Beatles Revival
