It’s not too early to start making plans for summer – and if those plans include taking part in Europe’s jam-packed music festival season, it may be time to put Colours of Ostrava on your list.
But don’t take our word for it: The Guardian recently announced its top 10 summer music festivals for 2016 naming the Czech festival alongside heavy-hitting open-air events like Edge of the Lake in Switzerland and Love International in Croatia.
Colours’ was cited as a spectacular festival venue for its setting among the dramatic industrial ruins of the Dolní Vítkovice ironworks.
The line-up isn’t too shabby either. This year sees Thievery Corporation, LA punk band’s Bronx’s Mexicana’s side project, Mariachi el Bronx, Electrco Swing Circus, Villagers and, on the electronic stage, Kiasmos and UNKLE Sounds.
Colours of Ostrava 2016 takes place from July 14-17; an accompanying Prague program, Colours Selection, is also on offer this summer with local concerts from Damien Rice, Mika and more.
