The Center for Architecture and Metropolitan Planning (CAMP)  in cooperation with ROPID has prepared a special program for Prague public transport enthusiasts today.

On Thursday, February 1, a series of events will take place from the CAMP headquarters including the opportunity to go for a spin on a vintage bus.

The 1945 Praga RND, manufactured by the Praga company, a Czechoslovak brand with an outstanding history of vehicle and aircraft production, operated along the main lines until the 1950s. Following thearrival of the Skoda 706 RO, the RND continued to serve on secondary routes for a number of years.

Tours depart from the entrance to the CAMP building at Vyšehradská 51; four site-seeing circuits (15:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:00) will travel from Podskalí to Albertov. Passengers will have the opportunity to take photos.

Another event sure to thrill fans of Prague’s mazací tram – a live projection, on view from the center’s 25-meter in-house cinema screen, will broadcast footage of the beloved lubricating vehicle in action.

Additional screenings from the perspective of a commuter train driver along the Řevnice-Úvaly line and from the vantage point of a Prague metro driver will please šotouš (the Czech term for public-transport fanatics).
