In 1648, the Swedish army pillaged Prague on July 25 and the next day occupied Mala Strana and Hradčany. The following siege lasted until Nov. 1. Many of Prague Castle's treasures such as the Devil's Bible and art collected by Rudolf II were looted and taken to Sweden, where much of it remains. The Devil's Bible, at least, has been digitized and can be seen online. Page 557 has the famous portrait of the Devil.
