The TEFL Exchange site, a web server devoted to the teach-abroad industry, recently put together a list of the Best Places in the World to Teach English in 2017, citing culture, breathtaking scenery, and good food as the most important criteria.

Myanmar nabbed the top spot for its “people and inspiring culture,” while the Czech Republic came in at number nine on a list dominated by Latin American and Asian nations for history, culture, and exploring.

Salaries for English teachers in the Czech Republic were listed at $900-$1300 USD monthly; with a requirement of bachelor’s degree and TEFL certification (minimum).

Top cities for teaching in the Czech Republic were Prague, Liberec, Brno, and Hradec Kralove.

According to the site, the best time to land a job is September through October and January—a fact we slightly disagree with as many schools, especially Czech ones, start hiring in late summer.
