On Saturday, Nov. 2, the influential TED Conferences non-profit organization will hold its eighth TEDx event in association with the University of New York in Prague (UNYP). This year’s event will feature 15 speakers sharing ideas on innovation, pushing boundaries, and overcoming challenges.

The English-language event will gather industry leaders at O2 universum for the first time ever. Guests will speak on this year’s theme of “breaking barriers.”

“TEDxUNYP aims to create an environment where real connections happen—between ideas, people, and diverse perspectives,” said Amit Grinvald, the event organizer. Grinvald said that 2024’s theme reflects the importance of “challenging limitations” collectively.

Speakers will include notable figures such as Sean Swarner, a world-record adventurer who summited Mount Everest with one lung, and Ard Kelmendi, an expert in artificial intelligence (AI) discussing the future of the technology and how it may affect the world of work—and daily life.

Rob Lipsett, a fitness influencer, will share his journey of building a passion-driven life, and Lucie Bášová, co-founder of parent-based application Mumdoo, will address parents navigating career breaks. Jakub Henni, founder of money-saving food Nesnězeno, will explore innovative solutions to save money and the environment.

Other guest speakers include Eva Dreyfus, a clinical psychologist with international experience, and Tolu Adebekun, an expert in honing emotional intelligence and personal development who also runs a podcast.

Attendees will also hear talks from Petr Jirsa, a young social media creator who runs a successful history-based channel on social media site TikTok, and Eyal Frayden, a business development leader and educator who teaches emotions as a marketing tool.

Guests will have networking opportunities throughout the day, allowing them to engage with speakers and fellow participants during breaks; two such networking windows will be on offer.

Entry also includes access to all sessions, a fully catered lunch, refreshments, a goodie bag, and an after-party at the Stages Hotel, where guests can meet the speakers in a more informal setting and manner.

Tickets start at CZK 1,450 and can be purchased on Ticketmaster. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., with the after-party starting around 7 p.m.
