The Dancing House Gallery returns to the 70s and 80s this summer with a large-scale exhibit of artifacts from a time when brands like Kofola and Fatra ruled the day and Helena Vondráčková and Karel Gott provided the soundtrack.
A recreation of a prefab apartment, including appliances and home accesories, will comprise a large part of the exhibit while another section will focus on lifestyle, fashion, hobbies, and leisure time.
Visitors can see the original packaging for leading national companies of the era including Seva, Kofola, Eta, Fatra, JAWA, and Tesla as well as costumes from Vondráčková, Gott, and other pop stars accompanied by film clips.
In addition, an installation of a typical scenes from the Czechoslovak-era will be on display including a working shop counter, complete with cranky clerk, and a throwback classroom.
The exhibit will be accompanied by photographs and posters Czech-Swiss photographer Iren Stehli who made a name for himself with his captivating black-and-white photographs of Prague’s shop windows and street life.
