Prague has seen its fair share of fun-soaked attractions throughout the years including a water slide running down a hill of the Sacre Coeur park in Prague 5 as well as a tour that saw water slides set up in cities around the Czech lands.

This weekend presents another chance for wet-and-wild thrills: the unique opportunity to splash through the pedestrian tunnel linking the Karlín and Žižkov districts.

The event, organized by Prague 8, takes place on Saturday, September 1 from 3 pm to 7 pm. An entertainment program and refreshments will accompany the chance to brave a giant inflatable slide (though given the fact that the tunnel is relatively flat, we’re guessing it’ll be more of a Slip’n Slide-style attraction).

Swimming rings will be on-hand for borrowing, although visitors are encouraged to bring their own.

The event is aimed at soaking up the waning moments of summer before school is back in session says Prague spokesman Marcela Konrádová. The pop-up slide event is being organized by the Hrybezhranic.cz organization, which specializes in setting up water slides at locations around Prague.

The event is free and bathings suits aren’t required (though organizers say shorts and t-shirts are appreciated)!

The Žižkov tunnel is 300 meters long and runs under Vítkov Hill connecting Tachovské Square in Žižkov with Thámova Street in Karlín. It was built in 1951 and was originally designated as an anti-aircraft cover.
