Unique Holiday Ice Ballet Comes to Prague

The first figure skating ballet in the world, St. Petersburg State Ballet on Ice, which celebrates its 50th anniversary since its foundation, is coming to the Czech capital for an unforgettable performance.

The ensemble, based on one of the most important schools of classical ballet, the St. Petersburg State Ballet on Ice, celebrates half a century of its existence this year. It will dance the beloved holiday classic with the original costumes.

The State Ballet on Ice was founded in 1967 by choreographer Konstantin Boyarsky and follows the tradition of the classical ballet of the St. Petersburg School.

Artistic director, former soloist of the world-famous Mariinsky Ballet, the Russian artist Konstantin Rassadin, who studied together with Rudolf Nureyev and has performed with Mikhail Baryshnikov and Natalia Makarova.

Music director and one of the founders of the ballet is Leo Korkhin, a prominent Russian composer, who has also composed for the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Society.

Several world champions, Olympians, and European champions will all appear in performances of St. Petersburg State Ballet on ice.

The show comes to the Czech Republic following performances in the US, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, China, Spain, Korea, Taiwan, Greece, Portugal, and Ireland.
